No… the incredible time and muscular strength commitments are the only reasons people avoid making their own croissants. Folding is not a problem. Folding a zillion times is untenable.
My first laminated dough was made in service of the vaunted cronut, and while it was indisputably incredible, there has never been a pastry in all of history that was actually worth that amount of effort.
