I am pretty sure the secret to getting through hard seasons is keeping a little cream in the fridge and a little imagination in the freezer. Even if I am wrong, at least there will be ice cream.

There is (an old-school parlor in Phoenix called Mary Coyle that makes the best black licorice ice cream. Hard to find but so good.

When I was in college in Minneapolis in the late 70s I think it was Bridgeman’s who had black licorice ice cream which I adored! I now have an ice cream maker that I’ve used all summer and now will add that to my repertoire! Thanks for reminding me of something I loved and forgot about!

I did not know that black licorice ice cream was a thing. As a true licorice lover, I’m appalled at my ignorance. Only one way to fix that. I’ll just have to trek thousands, or maybe only hundreds of miles to find it and try it. Is it a daily offering? I’d hate to arrive in autumn and find that it’s only offered in spring!
